MP for Portsmouth South
Government Whip, Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury
Stephen Morgan is the Labour MP for Portsmouth South, first elected in 2017. He serves as Government Whip and Lord Commissioner of the Treasury, a role he has held since September 2025, after previously serving as Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Education (2024–2025) and in various shadow roles. Earlier in his parliamentary career he sat on the Public Accounts Committee and worked on education, transport and defence matters.
