The Tobacco Companies (Transparency) Bill would require tobacco companies to publish data on their sales and marketing practices. The aim is to make information about how tobacco products are sold and advertised publicly available for scrutiny, improving transparency and accountability in the industry. The data would help Parliament and the public understand industry practices.
The Bill is at the second reading stage in the Commons. If it progresses, it would move to Committee Stage, then Report Stage and Third Reading, before going to the Lords.
