Public bodies would have to act to improve the UK’s long‑term wellbeing across environmental, social, economic and cultural areas, and publish assessments showing how their decisions affect future generations. The bill would also create a Commissioner for Future Generations, establish a Joint Parliamentary Committee, require consideration of preventative spending, and require companies to consider the impact of their activities on the country’s wellbeing.
