The bill would require the government to raise the debt threshold that allows a customer with a pre-paid energy meter to switch to a different supplier. In effect, more debt can be owed before switching is blocked, with related provisions to implement the change across the energy market.
Currently at the second reading in the House of Commons; if it progresses, it will move to committee stage for detailed examination.
