This Bill would create a statutory right for employed parents to take time off when they lose a child. It would set out the minimum leave and provide protection from unfair treatment for taking bereavement leave. It is designed to work alongside existing bereavement rights and employer policies.
The Bill is at the Second Reading in the House of Commons; it will move to Committee Stage for detailed scrutiny, then on to Report and Third Reading before progressing to the Lords.
