This Bill would allow eligible people living off the mains gas grid who heat with heating oil, LPG or propane to receive their Winter Fuel Payment earlier than usual. It sets out who qualifies and how the early payments would be made, along with related administrative changes.
The bill is currently at the Second Reading in the House of Commons. If it progresses, it would move to committee stage, then report stage and Third Reading, before moving to the Lords for consideration.
