This Bill would give magistrates more power to send repeat offenders who drive while disqualified to the Crown Court for sentencing. If a person has two or more previous offences, a third or later offence could be referred to the Crown Court, where a judge could impose a custodial sentence of up to two years. The aim is to tighten penalties for those who repeatedly drive while disqualified.
