The House of Commons Members' Fund Bill would consolidate and simplify the law governing the House of Commons Members' Fund, which helps former MPs and their dependants who are in financial difficulty. It would give the Trustees more freedom to manage the Fund, broaden who can benefit, remove the annual appropriation resolution and the requirement for current MPs to contribute £2 a month, and allow any surplus to be returned to the Treasury.
