A Bill to make provision for a register of accredited providers of adventure and gap year activities in the UK and overseas, where such activities are offered by a UK-owned or managed business; for the provision of consumer information about the registration process; for inspections of providers of such activities and for a register of approved inspectors; and for connected purposes.

15 May 2014
The Adventure and Gap Year Activity Companies (Accreditation and Inspection) Bill would create a national register of accredited adventure and gap year providers that are UK-owned or managed (including providers operating overseas). It would also require consumer information about the registration process, establish inspections of providers, and maintain a register of approved inspectors to carry out those inspections, along with related provisions.
The bill is currently at the 2nd Reading in the House of Commons. If it progresses, it would move to detailed scrutiny in committee for further examination and potential amendments.
