A Bill to repeal the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Act 2014.
House of Commons
27 March 2015
This Bill repeals the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Act 2014 in full. By removing the 2014 Act’s lobbyist transparency measures, its rules on non-party campaigning during elections, and the trade union administration provisions, it would restore the law to the regime that existed before the 2014 Act. In short, it scraps the 2014 changes and returns to the previous framework governing lobbying, campaigning and unions.
The Bill is currently at the 2nd Reading in the House of Commons. If it progresses, it will move to Committee Stage, then Report Stage and Third Reading in the Commons, followed by consideration in the Lords.
