The Wind Farm Subsidies (Abolition) Bill would stop government subsidies that support the development of wind farms. It aims to remove financial incentives for building wind energy projects, changing the economics of those schemes. If enacted, new wind farm proposals would have to proceed without subsidy support.
The bill is at the second reading stage in the House of Commons. No later stages are documented here, so it has not yet become law.
