This bill would require professional and semi-professional football clubs in England to reveal who owns them. It would give the Football Association powers to block owners who are not considered fit and proper, ensure creditors are paid equally if a club goes into administration, and help supporters’ organisations raise funds to buy a controlling stake in a club, along with related measures.
The bill is at the second reading in the House of Commons. If it proceeds, it would move to committee scrutiny, then to Report Stage and Third Reading, before going to the House of Lords.
