A Bill to allow donation of blood by all male donors on the same basis; and for connected purposes.
House of Commons
30 March 2015
The Blood Donation (Equality) Bill would ensure that male blood donors are treated the same as other donors, removing gender-based restrictions and allowing all men to donate on the same basis as everyone else. It also enables any related regulatory changes needed to implement this approach.
The bill is at the 2nd Reading in the Commons. If it progresses, it will move through later stages (Committee, Report, and Third Reading) and then to the Lords for consideration.
