The International Trade Agreements (Scrutiny) Bill would require formal parliamentary scrutiny of international trade deals, including any investor-state dispute settlement provisions, by both the European Parliament and the UK Parliament before they can be ratified. It would give Parliament the power to propose amendments to those agreements. It also aims to improve transparency and accountability in how trade deals are negotiated and finalised.
