A Bill to require for the NHS to provide information about ovarian cancer symptoms when informing women about the results of cervical smear tests; and for connected purposes.
House of Commons
13 May 2016
The Ovarian Cancer (Information) Bill would require the NHS to provide information about ovarian cancer symptoms when informing women about the results of cervical screening tests. It aims to help women recognise possible signs of ovarian cancer earlier by including this information in the usual screening-result communications, and it covers related provisions to ensure the information is given consistently.
The bill is at the 2nd reading stage in the Commons and has not yet reached committee stage or been considered for law. If progressed, it would move to detailed scrutiny in committee.
