The Bat Habitats Regulation (No. 2) Bill would tighten protection for bat habitats outside buildings, while allowing limits on protection inside buildings where bats significantly disrupt people using those buildings. It aims to balance bat conservation with practical use of built spaces and is currently at the Second Reading in the House of Commons, sponsored by Sir Christopher Chope.
The bill is at the 2nd Reading in the Commons and has not yet moved to Committee or the Lords; further stages would follow if it progresses.
