This Bill would make it illegal to sell, own or use portable laser devices that emit more than 1 milliwatt in certain circumstances. It is designed to reduce safety risks from high-powered lasers by prohibiting their sale, possession and use, and by providing enforcement and related rules.
The Bill is currently at the second reading in the Commons. If it progresses, it will move to committee stage for detailed scrutiny.
