This bill would require certain multinational companies to include information in their annual financial reports that is prepared under the OECD’s Country-by-Country reporting rules. The goal is to improve transparency by showing, in aggregate form, where profits are earned and taxes are paid across different countries.
The bill is at the 2nd reading in the House of Commons. If approved, it will move to Committee stage for detailed scrutiny and further readings.
