The BBC Royal Charter Bill creates the framework for the BBC to operate under a Royal Charter, covering its independence, funding and governance. It aims to protect the BBC from Government interference, set out how funding is managed, and define who runs the organisation and how they are held to account. The bill also explains how the Charter can be renewed in the future.
