The Bill would make it mandatory for NHS Trusts and healthcare commissioning authorities to run local consultations for proposed changes to NHS services. It is intended to give local people a voice in decisions about service changes and ensure community input is considered before plans are put into effect. It applies to changes proposed by NHS Trusts and commissioning authorities.
The Bill is currently at the second reading in the House of Commons, an early stage in the legislative process. If it passes the second reading, it will move to the committee stage for detailed examination.
