The Defibrillators (Availability) Bill would require defibrillators to be provided in educational establishments (such as schools and colleges) and in leisure, sports, and certain other public facilities. It would also require training for people to operate the devices and provide funding for their purchase, installation, use and maintenance to improve response to cardiac emergencies.
The bill is currently at the 2nd reading in the House of Commons. If it progresses, it would move to committee stage and then to the Lords for consideration.
