The Bill is about improving how child arrangement decisions are enforced after separation. It would set clear deadlines for enforcement of such orders and introduce a default presumption that parenting should be shared between both parents in Child Arrangement Orders. It also proposes a commission to review how the family justice system works and to make recommendations.
The Bill is at the 2nd reading stage in the Commons. It originated there in 2017 and has been before Parliament since then.
