This Bill would create a new body called the Business of the House Commission. The Commission would be responsible for regulating the timetable of business in the House of Commons, deciding when debates, questions and votes take place, and handling related matters. The aim is to make Parliament’s scheduling clearer, more predictable and overall more efficient.
The Bill is currently at the second reading in the House of Commons. If it progresses, it would move to committee scrutiny and later stages.
