To prohibit the export of live farmed animals for slaughter or fattening; and for connected purposes.
House of Commons
31 October 2018
The Live Animal Exports (Prohibition) Bill would ban the export of live farmed animals from the UK for slaughter or for fattening elsewhere. It covers all forms of transport and would create penalties for anyone who exports live animals in breach of the ban. The bill also allows related measures to be put in place to support the ban.
The bill is currently at its second reading in the House of Commons. If it progresses, it would move on to committee scrutiny and further readings.
