A Bill to limit the grounds of appeal against decisions on planning applications consistent with a neighbourhood development plan or local plan; and for connected purposes
House of Commons
21 March 2019
This Planning (Appeals) Bill would narrow the grounds for appealing planning decisions when the decision is in line with a local plan or neighbourhood plan. By restricting those appeal grounds, it aims to keep more decisions in line with approved plans and reduce delays, with additional related reforms to the planning appeals process.
The bill is at its second reading in the House of Commons. It originated in the Commons and would move to the next stages (Committee, report, third reading) if it progresses.
