The Plastic Pollution Bill would set official targets to reduce plastic pollution. It would require the Secretary of State to publish a Plastic Pollution Reduction Strategy and annual progress reports. It would also establish an advisory committee to provide expert input on policy and actions to cut plastic pollution.
The bill is at the Second Reading in the House of Commons; if it progresses, it would move to Committee Stage for detailed examination and then on to further readings.
