A Bill to give precedence in the House of Commons to Government business in connection to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 until the United Kingdom withdraws from the European Union.
House of Commons
19 September 2019
This Bill would give the Government’s business priority in the House of Commons for matters connected to the EU Withdrawal Act 2018 until the UK leaves the European Union. In effect, it aims to speed up Brexit-related legislation by ensuring government business is debated and progressed before other business.
The Bill is currently at the second reading in the House of Commons. If it passes this stage, it would move on to committee stage and subsequent readings, before potentially proceeding to the Lords.
