The Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Bill would reform how marriages and civil partnerships are ended or separated in England and Wales, and set out related provisions. It tackles divorce, dissolution and separation and related matters, with Parliament reviewing the changes as part of equality and civil rights law.
The bill is progressing through Parliament and is currently at the Commons’ report stage. It has had prior scrutiny in the Lords, where a related New Clause 1 was defeated in June 2020 (31 Aye, 400 No).
