This Bill would prohibit the supply of devices and substances designed to prevent speed cameras and other authorised traffic control devices from recognising a vehicle’s registration plate. It would create offences for those who manufacture, import, or sell such anti-detection items. The aim is to deter evasion of traffic enforcement and improve road safety.
The Bill is currently at the second reading in the Commons, having had its first reading earlier. It would need further stages (committee, report, and Lords consideration) to become law.
