The Automatic Electoral Registration Bill would require the government to improve how the voters’ register is kept, making it more accurate, complete and useful. It also allows data held by public bodies to be shared to help with electoral registration, with the aim of moving towards automatic or easier registration where possible.
Currently at the 2nd Reading in the House of Commons. It had its first reading in June 2020 and would proceed to further stages if it progresses.
