A Bill to prohibit the use of farrowing crates in pig farming; and for connected purposes.
House of Commons
5 May 2021
The Pig Husbandry (Farrowing) Bill would ban the use of farrowing crates in pig farming. Farrowing crates confine sows during birth and limit their movement, and the Bill also covers related measures needed to implement and enforce the ban.
The Bill is currently at the second reading in the House of Commons. If it progresses, it will move to the Committee Stage for detailed scrutiny.
