House of Commons
4 May 2022
The Employment (Caring Leave) Bill would give employees who are unpaid carers the right to one week of unpaid leave to provide care. The leave is for caring purposes and would be available to carers without losing pay. The bill also provides for related measures to support carers.
The bill is currently at the 2nd Reading in the House of Commons. If it progresses, it would move to Committee stage for detailed examination, followed by further readings and, if successful, consideration by the Lords.
