The Human Trafficking (Child Protection) Bill would create secure safe houses for children who have been subjected to human trafficking, to protect them and help them access support. It also covers safeguarding and welfare measures to coordinate care for these children across relevant agencies.
The bill had its first reading in June 2021 and is currently at the 2nd reading in the House of Commons. If passed, it would continue through the usual stages (committee, Report, and further stages) in both Houses.
