This Bill aims to set out workers’ rights and to change the legal definition of who counts as a 'worker'. It also covers connected provisions needed to support those rights. In essence, it seeks to widen and clarify protections for people who work.
The Bill is currently at the 2nd Reading in the House of Commons, where MPs discuss the general principles. If it progresses, it would move to the Committee stage to examine the detail.
