The Consumer Protection (Double Charging) Bill would aim to stop consumers being charged twice for the same good or service. It would set out rules for traders to prevent duplicate charges and give customers a right to refunds or compensation when it happens. It would also include enforcement measures and apply to both in-store and online purchases.
