The Domestic Premises (Electrical Safety Certificate) Bill would require an electrical safety certificate to be provided to a prospective buyer of a domestic property in certain circumstances. It sets out what the certificate covers, when it must be provided, and related rules to support its use in property transactions.
The bill is currently at the 3rd reading stage in the Lords (as of 1 February 2023). It has already completed the 1st and 2nd readings and an Order of Commitment discharge.
