The Ministerial Code (Enforcement) Bill would create a legal framework for how breaches of the Ministerial Code are to be dealt with and enforced. It would set out provisions related to enforcement and any connected purposes. In short, it seeks to formalise and strengthen accountability around ministers’ conduct.
