This Bill would create criminal offences for dangerous, careless or inconsiderate cycling, applying to pedal cycles, electrically assisted pedal cycles (EAPCs) and electric scooters. It would amend the Road Traffic Act 1988 and the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 to establish these offences and how they are prosecuted. It is currently at its first reading in the House of Lords.
The bill is in the very early stages of consideration (1st Reading) in the Lords and must pass through both Houses to become law.
