The Public Service (Integrity and Ethics) Bill aims to strengthen how integrity and ethics are promoted and protected across the public service. It would set out rules for conduct, create mechanisms to promote and monitor ethical standards, and provide protections for people who raise concerns, with related provisions for connected purposes.
The bill is currently at its first reading in the House of Lords. If the bill moves forward, it will proceed to the 2nd Reading and further stages in the Lords, and then move to the House of Commons for consideration.
