Spiking Bill would make it illegal to administer drugs, alcohol or any other substance to someone without their consent, and to attempt to do so. The offence would apply even if the person giving the substance did not intend to harm. It also includes related provisions to support enforcement and protection for victims.
The bill is at the very start of its journey, currently in the 1st reading in the Commons. It has not progressed beyond this stage.
