The Genocide Determination Bill would allow certain UK courts to make initial decisions about the UK’s obligations under the Genocide Convention and, if appropriate, refer those determinations to international courts or organisations. It also sets out how the UK should respond to genocide-related reports. The overall aim is to clarify and manage the UK’s international obligations in relation to genocide.
