The Bullying and Respect at Work Bill would create a legal definition of bullying at work, allow bullying-related claims to be heard in employment tribunals, and require a new Respect at Work Code to set minimum standards for a positive, respectful workplace. It would also give the Equality and Human Rights Commission power to investigate workplaces with a bullying culture or multiple incidents and to take enforcement action where appropriate.
The bill is currently at the second reading in the House of Commons. It has completed its first reading and has not yet reached the committee stage.
