The bill would set out and clarify the powers and duties of the Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA), the official who oversees how big supermarkets treat suppliers. It would specify what the Adjudicator can do to investigate possible breaches of the Groceries Code, gather information, and publish findings, with the aim of improving fairness in the grocery supply chain. It would also set out how the Adjudicator works with other enforcement bodies and how the office operates.
