This Bill would stop Members of Parliament from taking money or other benefits from oil and gas companies. It also requires the Leader of the House to move a Motion enforcing that ban and to publish plans to divest the Parliamentary Contributory Pension Fund from oil and gas investments. The aim is to reduce conflicts of interest and improve transparency about MPs’ links to the sector.
The bill is at the 2nd reading in the House of Commons. Its first reading was in December 2023; no further progress is recorded here.
