House of Commons
12 February 2025
This bill would remove the need for NHS clinical staff to pay immigration fees under section 68 of the Immigration Act 2014. In practice, NHS doctors, nurses and other clinical professionals would not have to bear these fees when applying under that section, with any related provisions included to give effect to the exemption.
The bill is at the second reading in the House of Commons. If it moves forward, it would then proceed to committee and subsequent readings in both Houses.
