This bill would allow certain civil and family court hearings to be held remotely, rather than in person. It sets the rules for when remote hearings can take place and how they should be run, with the aim of making justice quicker and more accessible while protecting fairness.
The bill is currently at the 3rd reading in the Commons after progressing through earlier stages (1st and 2nd readings, committee and report stages). If approved, it would move on to consideration by the House of Lords.
