This Bill would require the seller of a vehicle to record their home address or specific information about a company that owns the vehicle in the vehicle’s registration document when selling it. The aim is to make ownership and sale information more transparent and easier to trace during transfers. It would apply to the standard registration document used to transfer ownership of a vehicle.
The Bill is at the Second Reading in the Commons. If it progresses, it would move to Committee stage and subsequent readings before becoming law, subject to passage in the Lords.
