The Bill would require the Secretary of State to start negotiations with EU member states to extend the UK's Youth Mobility Scheme to their nationals on a reciprocal basis. It also provides for the connected measures needed to implement such an extension. In effect, young people from EU countries would be able to apply to come to the UK under the Youth Mobility Scheme in the same way UK youth can go to those countries, subject to UK rules.
