This Bill would set out penalties for driving without insurance and require the Secretary of State to publish a report evaluating how effective current enforcement methods are. It aims to strengthen enforcement against uninsured driving and to review whether existing approaches (including the use of technology) remain fit for purpose. The measure is currently in the Commons at the second reading stage, and it was introduced by Peter Swallow of Labour (Co‑op).
