This Bill would ban selling or advertising electrically assisted pedal cycles that do not fit the official class defined in the Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles Regulations 1983, and it would also ban equipment that can convert a pedal cycle into such a vehicle. In short, only cycles that meet the current class—and equipment that turns bikes into compliant forms—could be marketed or supplied in the UK.
